Description: The Sarget de Gruaud Larose is the second wine of Château Gruaud Larose. This wine comes from a vineyard of 82 hectares in the Saint-Julien appellation. The vines have an average age of 25 years of age and they grow in Garrone gravel.
Tasting notes: Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it offers up expressive redcurrants and blackberry compote notes with hints of cassis, unsmoked cigars, dried herbs, and rosehip tea. Medium-bodied, soft, very fresh, and with exhilarating vibrancy, it has loads of mineral sparks on the finish.
Pairing: Like many red Bordeaux wines, the wine of Saint Julien is perfect with lamb, duck, game, chicken, and rare, grilled beef. St. Julien wines also pair well with most roasted, braised, or grilled meats and dishes with earthy flavors like mushroom and truffles.
