Tasting notes: The 2015 Chianti Rufina Riserva is delicate and fine with wild berry aromas, blackberry spice leather and pressed rose petals. This is a pure expression of Sangiovese that is aged in oak for 2 years. Only 8000 bottles are produced. This Riserva is a dark and nicely saturated wine with good length, balanced acidity and general intensity. 

Vineyard: The Colognole estate winery has been owned by the Spalletti family since 1890. Of its more than 700 hectares in the Rufina hills of Tuscany, 27 are in vineyard. The cool summer breezes from the nearby Apennine mountains encourage a unique character in Chianti Rufina Sangiovese: excellent balance, elegance and significant potential for long term ageing.
