Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande had an interesting 2016. Winter was mild and spring experienced a lot of rainfall, which led to mildew appearing on the vines. Luckily, a period of good weather allowed the grapes to mature. Summer settled in and development continued, without any problems until harvest.
Tasting: A wine with a seamless tannin structure of ripe tannins. Very fine and polished. Lovely subtle fruit. Well done for second wine of Pichon Lalande.Vineyards: Pauillac, in Bordeaux's Left Bank Médoc region, boasts well-draining gravel soils, which in turn translates to higher quality wines; and those from Pauillac age extremely well.
