Chateau Duhart Milon 2011
HK$700.00 inc. tax
Type: Red Wine
Vintage: 2011
Grapes: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot
Origin: Pauillac, Bordeaux, France
Winery: Château Duhart Milon
Vineyards: Château Duhart-Milon’s second wine is selected on the same basis as the “Grand Vin”. In general, the grapes are from the younger plots in the vineyard. Moulin de Duhart has several characteristics similar to the grand vin, but with less potential for ageing as its barrel ageing period is shorter. The origin of the name comes from the former presence of a windmill on the Carruades plateau, next to the Duhart-Milon vineyard.
Tasting Notes: A classic Pauillac from a lighter year, this isn't far behind stable mate Lafite in 2011(which may be a comment on the quality of the latter as much as anything). Crunchy acidity, medium weight, sinewy tannins and a sweet blackberry finish. A wine that shows good structure on the finish, with refreshing acidity.
Pairing: Best served with classic meat dishes like veal, lamb or duck. It also pairs perfectly with Asian cuisine like hotpot and Suckling Pig.
