Origin: Pauillac, Bordeaux, France
Winery: Château Lynch Bages
Vineyards: The 90 hectares of Château Lynch-Bages are located outside the town of Pauillac. The vineyard occupies a gravel ridge looking down over the Gironde estuary. The well-drained soil consists mainly of deep gravel beds over a limestone sub-strata, and it is planted predominantly with red wine grape varieties.
Tasting notes: The 2015 Lynch-Bages blend highlights the perfection and vibrancy of Cabernet Sauvignon in a concentrated wine with remarkably ripe tannins. Very expressive on black fruit aromas such as blackcurrants, black cherries and dried herbs. A frank attack on the palate, with a broad and strong expression developing on the mid-palate. Its perfectly extracted tannins provide a fine and silky structure. The enduring and chewy finish closes on intense yet elegant black fruit aromas.
Pairing: Perfect to be paired with rare, grilled beef. Also quite enjoyable with roasted, braised or grilled meats like veal, chicken and game, as well as dishes with mushroom or earthy, truffle flavors.
